Enslaved Persons Named: Rachel, Phebe [alt: Phoebe], Mary, Peggy, Abram

On September 2, 1791, Stephen Baker, planter of Liberty County, and his wife Martha Baker, gifted to minor Mary Ann Baker, daughter of John and Mary Baker, via a trustee, Andrew Maybank, lots 25 and 26 in Sunbury “and also the Five following Negro slaves namely Rachel, Phebe [alt: Phoebe], Mary, Peggy and Abram, with the future issue and increase of the females amongst said slaves.” Witnessed by Geo. [George] Beaird, William Graham, John Baker Junior. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on December 23, 1791.
