On August 10, 1791, Henry Dessex Stone sold to Ferdinand O’Neal, both planters of Liberty County, for 779 pounds sterling 1/3 part of a 2300-acre tract of land in South Carolina left to him and his two sisters Elizabeth Francis and Susannah Stone through a deed of gift by their grandfather Matheurine Guerin, as well as his undivided share of “nine Negroes” [unnamed] who were left to him and his two sisters via a will and deed of gift from Matheurine Guerin, plus an undivided share of “Sixteen Negroes” [unnamed] from the estate of Mary Dunworth, which Henry Dessex Stone was entitled to “in right of his wife, with the three children of the said Mary Dunworth,” and one third part of a judgment against Thomas Stone worth 2300 pounds that was entered during the February term of 1791 to Henry Dessex Stone, Joseph Woodruff and Ferdinand O’Neal “in trust for and for the only proper use, benefit and behoof of Elizabeth F. And Susannah Stone.” Witnessed by Ray’d [Raymond] Demere. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on August 22, 1791.
