On May 4, 1792, Jeremiah Condy, of Charleston, South Carolina, sold to John MacIver [also spelled McIver within this document], Chatham County, Georgia, for 96 pounds sterling “a Negro Fellow and a Wench being two Negroes imported from the Gold Coast Africa in the ship La Janny Captain Juinnet…” Signed by Jeremiah Condy at Savannah on May 4, 1792 in the presence of Justice of the Peace David Montaigue. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 2, 1792. [NOTE: Unfortunately, no names were provided for the enslaved people.]
