Enslaved Persons Named: Satirah

On May 2, 1764, Joseph Andrew, planter of St. Johns Parish in the Province of Georgia, sold to James Andrew, same place for 30 pounds sterling in trust for his daughter Mary Andrew, minor, “a negro girl Satirah by name.” Witnessed by Saml [Samuel] Bacon Junior, John Hobb, John Baker Senior. Probated by Col. John Baker of Liberty County before Liberty County Justice of the Peace David Rees on May 13, 1792. Included a note that the above sale had been recorded in Book A, folio 72, but had not been probated. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 30, 1792.
