Enslaved Persons Named: Hannah, Buck, Jem, Stout, Alice

On December 1, 1790, Mary Miller, widow of Chatham County, gifted to her son Morris Miller, a minor, to be held in trust by Francis Coddington until he became 21, “the following Negroe Slaves to wit, Hannah and her four children, namely Buck, Jem, Stout and Alice.” Witnessed by Mary Senior, Henry Manly. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 15, 1791.
