On March 1, 1831, Bartholomew A. Busby, guardian of Abiel Winn, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1031.61 to Jedidiah Field of Connecticut “the following negro slaves, to wit, Rachel, Polydore, Ned, York and Peggy.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 1, 1831. [NOTE: This deed was marked as satisfied per W.W. Goodson, attorney for Jedidiah Field. Satisfaction recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 25, 1833.
