“State of Georgia, Liberty County } Jesse Ham, being duly sworn, deposeth and saith, that he has introduced into this State the slaves, who names, ages, and qualifications are hereunto annexed; that he is the true and lawful owner of said slaves; that they are introduced into this State for the sole purpose of being held to labor and service by him, hie heirs, executors, administrators or legatees; and without any intent to sell, transfer, barter, lend, hire, mortgage, procure to be taken or sold under execution, or other legal process, or in any way or manner to alien or dispose of said slaves, so as to vest the use or enjoyment of the labor or service of said slaves in any other person or persons, either for the lives of said slaves, or for any other period of time, or in any manner to defeat, avoid or elude the true intent and meaning of the law.
