Josiah Wilson reported that a mortgage of “personal estate” recorded in Book I, page 75, on March 6, 1824, made to him by William Maxwell, had been satisfied in full. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on October 5, 1829. [NOTE: Although this deed did not specify the “personal estate,” the deed recorded in Book I, page 75, was a mortgage naming the following slaves as collateral: Isaac, George, Sam, Little Isaac, Ellick [alt: Aleck], August, Cato, Rinah, Rachel, Nanny, Louisa, Pompey, Catherina, Betsey [alt: Betsy], Judy.]
