Enslaved Persons Named: Charlotte, Nanny, Harriet, Abby, Tenah, Davy, Livius

On June 17, 1829, Joseph Austin, Liberty County, sold to Bartholomew A. Busby, planter, in trust for Abiel Winn, son of Peter F. Winn, all of Liberty County, for $1240 “the following seven negro slaves; namely, woman Charlotte valued at two hundred and sixty five dollars; girl Nanny valued at two hundred and twenty five dollars; girl Harriet valued at one hundred and seventy five dollars; girl Abby valued at one hundred and twenty five dollars; girl Tenah valued at seventy five dollars; boy Davy valued at two hundred dollars; and boy Livius valued at one hundred and seventy five dollars.” Busby was said to be serving in his capacity as executor of the last will and testament of William Osgood deceased. Witnessed by William McWhir. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 18, 1829.
