On January 30, 1829, Josiah Wilson, Chatham County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2200 to R & W King of the City of Savannah, Chatham County, “the following named negroes, to wit, Bella, Sue, Dinah, Cato, Bristol, Brutus, Diana, Little Diana, Little Peggy, Hetty, Cuffee, Toby, Toney, Leah, Hannah & Cinda [alt: Cinder].” Also put up as collateral was a 600-acre tract of land on the North Newport river in Liberty County, occupied by Josiah Wilson, bounded west by land belonging to Jedidiah Field, on the South and South East by Joseph Austin’s land. Witnessed by Jos. [Joseph] Jones. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 4, 1829.
