On February 1, 1828, Joseph Austin, Liberty County, used as collateral on promissory notes totalling $7721.19 to Jedidiah Field, of Madison, Connecticut, “thirty one negro slaves; to wit, Boston, Sally, Alick, Big George, Harry, Tom, Toney, Binah, Flora, Susy, Lucy, Sinar [alt: Sina], Sukey, Sarah, Cinder [alt: Cinda], Amy, Candace, Abram, Adam, Isaac, Little George, Jacob, Sampson, Diana, Phoebe, Nancy, Rachel, Polly, Miley, Jinsey and Major.” Witnessed by Uriah Wilcox. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 4, 1828.
