On February 1, 1828, Ann S. Harris, Liberty County, sold to John D. Hathaway, for $300 “a negro slave named Ellick, being a boy about fifteen years of age.” Witnessed by John B. Bacon, Furman R. Whitwell. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 7, 1828.
