On February 1, 1828, Jedidiah Field, of Madison, Connecticut, sold to Joseph Austin, Liberty County, for $6820 “the following property, thirty one negro slaves, to wit, Boston, Sally, Alick, Big George, Harry, Tom, Toney, Binah, Flora, Susy, Lucy, Sinai, Suky [alt: Sukey, Sucky], Sarah, Cinda, Amey [alt: Amy], Candace, Abram, Adam, Isaac, Little George, Jacob, Sampson, Diana, Phoebe, Nancy, Rachel, Polly, Miley, Jinsey, and Major.” Witnessed by Uriah Wilcox. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on January 30, 1829.
