Enslaved Persons Named: Cork, Jenny, Jack, Patience

On July 26, 1827, Edward W. Russell, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2184 to George W. Walthour, also of Liberty County, “four negroes; namely, Cork, a negro man aged about forty four years, a negro woman by the name of Jenny thirty five years old; a negro man named Jack, aged twenty six; and a negro girl by the name of Patience, aged fourteen years.” Witnessed by Uriah Wilcox. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on August 13, 1827.
