On June 8, 1827, Joseph Bacon, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $644.75 to Uriah Wilcox, also of Liberty County, “a male slave named Big Tom, & a female slave named Sally & her three children Joe, Daniel, & Frank. Also a female slave named Sylvia, & her daughter Affy, together with the future issue of the females.” Witnessed by Moses Way. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 11, 1827. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied, U. Wilcox. Recorded 30th May 1836. Thos. J. Shepard Clk”]
