Enslaved Persons Named: Titus

On February 21, 1827, Richard S. Baker, Liberty County, sold to Ann Elizabeth Mara, James Carter Mara and Sarah Amanda Mara, same place, for $400 “a negro man slave named Titus, who is about thirty years of age.” Witnessed by D.R. Perry, Jas. [James] Law. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 7, 1827. The deed specified that James Carter and Sarah Amanda Mara were Ann Elizabeth Mara’s children.
