On November 9, 1826, Thomas Mallard, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $166.81 to Uriah Wilcox, same place, “a certain male slave named Sam, & his wife named Fanny, & their daughter named Grace, together with the future increase of the females.” Witnessed by Richard F. Axson. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on January 12, 1827. [NOTE: Marked as satisfied in full as of February 27, 1840, by Oliver Stevens, administrator of the estate of Uriah Wilcox. Satisfaction recorded on April 27, 1840.]
