On March 4, 1826, John Bacon used as collateral on 18 promissory notes of $30 each and another for $23.25 to Uriah Wilcox, both of Liberty County, “a certain female slave named Moll, & her two children named Bella & Nanny & a male slave, brother of said Moll, named Toney, together with the future increase of the females.” Witnessed by Rodney Pease, James C. Phelps. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 9, 1826. [NOTE: Written on this deed was “Satisfied U. Wilcox. Recorded this 25th 1835 May.”]
