Enslaved Persons Named: Peggy, Rose

On February 28, 1826, Samuel S. Law, Liberty County, sold to James Shannon, same place, for $500 “the following property, viz. A negro woman named Peggy, and her daughter named Rose. Said Peggy is about twenty three years of age, about [left blank] feet [left blank] inches high, American born; and her daughter Rose is about five years of age.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 13, 1826.
