Enslaved Persons Named: Mary, Ben, Cato, Maria, Celia, Chloe

On March 7, 1825, Richard S. Baker, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note for $805.37 to Uriah Wilcox, same county, “a certain female slave named Mary & her three children named Ben, Cato & Maria, & another female slave named Celia, & one named Chloe about seven years of age, together with the future increase of the females.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 10, 1825.
