Enslaved Persons Named: Little Bob, Lucy, Ned, Monday

On May 19, 1824, Benjamin Mell Sen, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note to John McGowen for $6000 “the four following negro slaves namely Little Bob, Lucy Ned and Monday, together with the future issue of the said Lucy, my whole stock of cattle, my whole stock of hogs, four horses, one riding gig, one waggon, and all my household and kitchen furniture. Witnessed by William Q. Baker. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 27, 1824.
