On April 5, 1824, Richard S. Baker, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $558.78 to Uriah Wilcox, Liberty County, “a certain female slave named Mary, & her four chilren, named Ben, Cato, Mariah & Mary, with the future increase of the females…” Witnessed by J.D. Hathaway, Thos. [Thomas] Hathaway. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 5, 1824.
