On February 23, 1824, Samuel J. Axson and Ann Axson, his wife, used as security on a promissory note of $3000 for Joseph Law Sen., also of Liberty County, for “twelve certain negro slaves, described and named as follows: Cambridge, Clara, Billy, about four years old, Dick three years old, Selina, Amey the child of Selina, Harry, Chaumont, Sally, Virginia, Joe, Phoebe and Mate. Witnessed by Silas Fulton, Richard F. Axson. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 7, 1824.
