Enslaved Persons Named: Peter

On February 3, 1824, Richard F. Baker, executor of the estate of Alexander Martin, deceased, sold to William Robarts for $450 “one negro boy, by the name of Peter.” Baker noted that he had sold Peter “by virtue of an order from the Honorable Court of Ordinary of the County of Liberty…at the Court-house of this County, in the usual hours, to the highest bidder.” Witnessed by J.W. Robarts. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 9, 1824.
