Enslaved Persons Named: Joe, Ben, Hastings, Tom, Sary, Sylvia, Tenah, Hannah, Cate, Little Cate, Clarinda, Phebe, Little Phebe

On December 11, 1823, Charles Dicks, Liberty County, gifted to his niece Ann A. McConnell “all those thirteen negro slaves, namely, Joe, Ben, Hastings, Tom, Sary, Sylvia, Tnah, Hannah, Cate, and Little Cate, Clarinda, Phebe [alt: Phoebe], and Little Phebe, together with the future issue and increase of the female slaves…” Witnessed by William Ward, James Shannon. Ward probated the deed on December 18, 1812. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on on January 3, 1824.
