On February 7, 1838, William Robarts used as collateral on a promissory note of $3000 to Mrs. Sarah C. Ward, “the following ten named negroes (viz) Andrew, Big Jack, B. Stephen Charlotte, Charles, Doll, Big Cuffy, Patty Mary and William and the future issue of the females slaves…” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on on February 23, 1838.
