On April 19, 1838, Lydia Q. Baker and her husband Thomas E.W. Baker acknowledged receipt from William Q. Baker, her guardian, of her “full proportion of the Estate of Elizabeth Quarterman deceased consisting of sundry articles of house & kitchen furniture etc and the following negro slaves, Rose, Charles, & Patty and also thirteen 50/100 3/4 dollars in cash.” Baker and her husband also released William Q. Baker from all claims and responsibilities as her guardian. Witnessed by Thos. [Thomas] Mallard. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 4, 1838.
