On April 1, 1837, John Miller gave to his daughter Mary Martin “one negro boy named Robert about three years old, to have and to hold forever, and have put her in possession of the said boy Robert, by the delivery of these presents…” Witnessed by James Laing and Z.A. Boggs, J.P. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 9, 1837.
