Enslaved Persons Named: Bell, Sam, Henry, Mary, March, & Prince
On April 25, 1836, William Hughes, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $764 to Uriah Wilcox, Liberty County, “a certain female slave named Bell and her five children Sam, Henry, Mary, March, & Prince, together with the future issue and increase of the females.” Witnessed by William B. Fleming, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 26, 1836.
