On May 14, 1836, Mary A. Harris used as collateral on a promissory note of $214.72 to Dunham & Leonard, merchants, “her negro man Simon, slave…” Witnessed by Jordan Ryols [alt: Ryals] [signed by mark], Jeremiah Baker. Mary Harris signed by mark. Attached was her promissory note, dated May 14, 1836 at Riceboro. Jordan Ryals probated the deed on June 2, 1836. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 2, 1836. [NOTE: Marked as satisfied as of March 30, 1841 by G.W. Dunham.
