On March 3, 1835, Alexander Stewart, planter of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $240.93 to Uriah Wilcox, trader of Liberty County, “the following negro slaves named Hagar, Clinton, Nancy, Flora together with the future issue and increase of the females…” Witnessed by P.W. Fleming. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 13, 1835. [NOTE: Marked as satisfied and satisfaction recorded April 6, 1836.]
