Enslaved Persons Named: Deliah, Sam, Leah, Amy, Ann, Tilla, Dinah, Hagar, Frank, Cloe [alt: Chloe], Adam, Stepney, Minta [alt: Minder], Old Stepney, Leah

On March 3, 1835, in Riceborough, Liberty County, the executors of William Foster’s estate, William Jones and N. Varnadoe, sold to M.L. Jones for $4462 “fifteen negro Slaves: to wit, Deliah, Sam, Leah, Amy, Ann, Tilla, Dinah, Hagar, Frank, Cloe [alt: Chloe], Adam, Stepney, Minta [alt: Minder], Old Stepney and Leah purchased this day by him at the sale of the Estate of William Foster deceased.”

On March 16, 1835, at Riceboro M.L. Jones, Liberty County, sold to William Jones for $872 “ten negro Slaves viz, Deliah, Sam, Leah, Amy, Tilla, Dinah, Hagar, Old Stepny [alt: Stepney] & Leah…”

On the same day, marked as being at the “executors sale,” the executors sold to Peter W. Fleming for $305 200 acres of land bounded north by land belonging to the Hargraves [alt: Hargreaves] estate, south by land of Jonathan Bacon, easy by land of Jesse Cooper, and west by land belonging to the Anderson estate.

All of the above recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 6, 1835.
