On April 5, 1834, Samuel Spencer, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1144 to Uriah Wilcox, also of Liberty County, a certain female slave named Hetty and her two children Rakey & Washington likewise another female slave named Phillis [alt: Phyllis] and her two children Silviah [alt: Sylvia] & Bellah and another female slave named Cretia and her three children Sharper Sue & Jacob together with the future issue & increase of the females.” Witnessed by Elijah Chapman. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on April 12, 1834. [NOTE: Marked as satisfied as of March 12, 1836. Satisfaction recorded on March 28, 1836.]
