On February 21, 1834, Newman Bradley, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $291.60 to Charlton Hines, also of Liberty County, “a certain male slave named Cubit, and a certain female slave named Sylla [alt: Scylla, Cilla, Silla], together with the future issue and increase of the said Silla.” Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on February 25, 1834. [NOTE: Written on this deed was satisfaction as of January 5, 1835. Recorded on the same day.]
