On May 17, 1833, William N. Way, planter of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1189.52 to Uriah Wilcox, trader of Liberty County, “the following slaves, named Kate, Hagar, Quamina, Rosanna, Stephen, Sarah, Abram, Daniel, Sam, Doll & Caroline, together with the future issue & increase of the females.” Witnessed by Jos. Andrews, J.P.L.C. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 20, 1833. [NOTE: Marked satisfied as of April 2, 1841 by O. Stevens, administrator of U. Wilcox.
