On March 4, 1833, Smith S. Hart, planter of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $325.31 to Uriah Wilcox, trader of Liberty County, “two certain female slaves named Judy & Lucy, & a male slave named Jim, son of said Lucy, together with the future issue & increase of the females.” Witnessed by Jos. Andrews, J.P.L.C. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on March 5, 1833. [NOTE: Marked as Satisfied as of January 23, 1834.]
