On June 10, 1831, William B. Fleming, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2000 to George W. Anderson and John W. Anderson, merchants and copartners in Savannah doing business under the name George Anderson & Son, “twenty four negro slaves…namely, Plato, Will, Jack, Sharper, Joe, William, Jim, James, Anthony, Stepney, Tenah, Nancy, Lily, Fanny, Louisa, Big Chloe, Little Chloe, Henry, Rinah, Leah, Rachel, Hannah, Betty & Harriet. Witnessed by W.W. Gordon, Notary Public. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on December 14, 1832.
