On January 9, 1834, Joseph Austin, Liberty County, used as collateral on four promissory notes for a total of $1200 to Ann E. Mara “the following ten negro slaves, viz. Binah, Delia, Dembo, Bella, Harry, Sally, Little Binah, Judy, Charles & Stepney…” Witnessed by U. Wilcox, Edwd [Edward] H. Bond. [Marked as satisfied in full as of February 9, 1834, by A.E. Earl and James Earl. Satisfaction recorded on the deed by Liberty County Superior Court Clerk Thomas J. Shepard on February 9, 1837.]
