On May 16, 1833, Robert J. Wheeler, planter of Liberty County, sold to Elijah Baker, Liberty County, for $425 “a certain negro man slave by the name of Toby, aged about thirty two years.” Witnessed by John Dunwody, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on May 20, 1833.
