Enslaved Persons Named: Jacob, Affy

On June 5, 1832, Moses L. Jones, of Liberty County, bought from Liberty County Sheriff Henry R. Russell for $600 “two certain negroes, Jacob and Affy [alt: Affee].” Jacob and Affy were originally the property of Adam T. Holmes, and were seized and sold at the Liberty County courthouse as a result of a lawsuit by Joseph Austin, and a writ of fieri facias. Recorded on June 13, 1832 in Liberty County Superior Court.
