On May 8, 1832, Oliver Stevens, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note for $1073.34 to Robert Habersham, Chatham County, “six negro slaves, called Cudjoe, Prince, Isaac, Dick, Patty & Maria, together with their issue…” Witnessed by Samuel S. Law, A.T. Holmes, J.P. Recorded in Liberty County Superior Court on June 7, 1832. On May 6, 1834, Thomas J. Shepard, Clerk of Liberty County Superior Court, marked this deed as having been satisfied in Savannah on April 9, 1834, with the receipt of $804.76 by Rob. Habersham.
