On August 2, 1842, James S. Bradwell, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note to Angus Martin, of the same place, for $300 “three certain Negro slaves, to wit Bellah, Louisa & Isaac.” Witnessed by Wm. [William] G. Martin, J.I.C.L.C. and Jas. [James] R. Bird, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on August 20, 1842, by E. Way, Clerk.
