On April 5, 1842, Thomas Mann and Samuel S. Mann used as collateral on a promissory note of $673 to George W. Anderson and John W. Anderson, doing business under the name George W. Anderson & Brother, “the following named Slaves with the issue of the females to wit Mary, Arthur, Edinborough [alt: Edinburgh], & Bill…” Witnessed by William B. Fleming, Not. Pub.
