On April 24, 1842, George W. Dunham, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $2200 to Thomas J. Dunham, planter of Liberty County, “the following four Negro Slaves to wit Tom Moses March & Isaac…” Witnessed by B.W. Allen, Wm. [William] G. Martin, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on April 27, 1842, by E. Way, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on this deed was: “Satisfied in full 8 Jany 1847 Thomas J. Dunham. Recorded 15 April 1847. J.S. Bradwell, Clerk.”]
