On May 26, 1840, Sarah R. Bennet, of Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $1652 to Ralph King and William King of Savannah, doing business under the name R & W King, “the following five Negro Slaves (viz) Old Hannah, Tom, Washington, Robert, & Charles…” Witnessed by S. Stevens, S. Spencer, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on April 6, 1842, by E. Way, Clerk.
