On February 1, 1840, the executors of John Lambert’s estate (Thomas Mallard, John Dunwody, Wm. Q. Baker, Ezra Stacy and William Jones) sold to Mrs. Sarah R. Bennett, of Liberty County, “the following named Slave to wit Jemmy…” The executors cited the right to sell Lambert’s estate given them by an Act of the Georgia Assembly. Witnessed by W.E.W. Quarterman, Samuel Spencer, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded this April 11, 1840, by E. Way, Clerk.
