On February 22, 1839, Eugene Bacon, Liberty County, sold to Mrs. Martha Bacon, for $1200 “the following property (viz) Four Negro Men Slaves, Charles, Frank, Sam & Boston, one Negro Woman named Patty, two Negro Girls Binah & Venus & two boys little Frank & James…” Witnessed by John Bacon, Thos. [Thomas] G. Way. Probated by Thos. G. Way before Saml [Samuel] Spencer, J.I.C.L.C. Recorded on February 22, 1839 by E. Way, Clerk.
