[NOTE: On the next page of Deed Book L, John S. Fraser sold to George W. Walthour 1540 acres of land in two tracts of land in Liberty County, the first containing 743 acres and called Woodville, bounded on the north by Stephen Baker’s land, west by William Graham’s land, south by John Stevens’ land, and east by Est. of John Croft. The second tract, 800 acres known as Hameth Gilead, was bounded north by John E. Fraser’s land, northwest by land belonging to William Graham’s estate, , south and southwest by land belonging to Fabian & Thomas Bacon’s estate, and east and north by Nathan Williamson’s land, according to a plat of survey made by Robert Hendry dated January 26, 1816. It is possible that the enslaved people mentioned in the bill of sale lived on these two properties. According to a deed on page 53 of the same Deed Book, John S. Fraser was the son and heir of John E. Fraser, and George W. Walthour was his guardian. See also the document on page 54. ]
