On May 13, 1838, Edward J. Delegal, Liberty County, used as collateral on two promissory notes, one for $1500 and one for $1350, to R & W King company “the following slaves (viz) Princess, Hamilton, Charles, Samuel, Peggy, Nelly, Frances, Charlotte Pompey Alexander.” The R & W King company was said to consist of Ralph King, William King, and B.E. Hand. Witnessed by D.D. Copp, J.K. ?Teff?? Recorded on June 8, 1838, by Edward Way, Clerk.
