On [date not apparently given], Valentine Grest, Liberty County, used as collateral on a promissory note of $939 to Charles W. Rogers, Bryan County, “the following property to wit, Dianah [alt: Diannah] about thirty years of age, Peter about forty years of age, ? James ? about twelve years of age, Hannah about two years of age and Richard about fifty years of age.” Witnessed by H.S. Andrews, R.Q. Andrews, J.P. Recorded on July 7, 1847, by J.S. Bradwell, Clerk. [NOTE: Written on the deed was “Satisfied 17 April 1849 Chas. W. Rogers. Recorded 17 Apr 1849. J.S. Bradwell Clerk.”]
